Education

I am originally from Chicago, Il. I went to college in the Midwest at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where I graduated with High Honors in Chemistry. I pursued my dream to become a surgeon at the prestigious Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Il. I earned my MD in 1989. After medical school, I moved to the Bay Area for my surgical training at the University of California, Davis-East Bay. I became Board Certified in General Surgery in 1996 and recertified in 2004 then again in 2014. I am also certified in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. I am a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the East Bay Surgical Society, and the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association.

I have served as Chairman of Surgery at San Leandro Hospital in 2003. I served as Secretary/Treasurer of Eden Medical Staff in 2011 and Vice-Chief of Staff in 2012. I was elected and served as Chief of Staff at Eden Medical Center for 2013. I served as Immediate Past Chief of Staff at Eden Medical Center in 2014

I have been named to Top Surgeons in United States several years running and I am happy to say that I have been recognized as a Super Doc by San Francisco Chronicle for 2013.

I received an award for 20 Years of Service from Sutter Health Eden Medical Center in 2016.
